Liverpool and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for Luis Diaz, reportedly for €75 million (£65.6m; $88.1m), according to The Athletic.

Diaz is currently in Tokyo as part of Liverpool’s pre-season tour, but it is reported that The Reds have given the go-ahead for the Colombia international to travel to Germany.

Bayern Munich are said to be very keen on signing Luis Diaz, and previously made an offer of €67.5 million (£58.6m; $78.8m), which Liverpool rejected. Negotiations have since continued.

Diaz did not feature in Liverpool’s pre-season friendly match against AC Milan, with manager Arne Slot clearly stating that it was due to ongoing transfer discussions.

Diaz still has a contract with Liverpool until June 2027. Although he has expressed his desire to leave Anfield, Liverpool have been reluctant to let him go.

In the current transfer window, Liverpool have already offloaded players like Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Nathaniel Phillips. Reports also indicate that Darwin Nunez will be let go soon, and Harvey Elliott’s future is also under consideration.

Liverpool have signed Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt for £69 million ($93.4m), with an additional £10m in add-ons. They are also reportedly trying to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Luis Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for a reported £37.5 million, which could rise to around £50 million with add-ons. With his upcoming move, the agreed transfer fee is now reportedly around £43 million.

He has played 148 games for Liverpool, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists. Last season, when Liverpool were chasing the Premier League title, Diaz performed impressively, scoring 13 goals in 36 league matches.
